COPS Monitoring Bulletin Newsletter #42

IAF HONORS COPS DISPATCHER DORJAN ENGRAM AS OPERATOR OF THE YEAR We're proud to announce that one of our dispatch team members, Dorjan Engram, has been recognized as the Integration Association of Florida’s (IAF) Operator of the Year. This prestigious award acknowledges Engram’s exceptional dedication, outstanding performance, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the dealers, customers, and communities that COPS serves. He is in good company as he joins a long list of employees recognized by our industry as leaders. The FalseAlarmReductionAssociation (FARA) reports that ECV (2+ calls before calling PD) reduces false dispatches by up to 50%. This lowers costs, saves tax dollars, helps law enforcement prioritize resources for real emergencies, and translates into happier customers! We estimate that over 460 jurisdictions require ECV, which clearly indicates it works! You certainly must comply if you’re in one of these areas, but even if you’re not, we consider using ECV as a ‘best practice.’ On MPower, adding ECV is as easy as adding a number in the CTV2 (Call to Verify #2) field! So, we invite you to start reducing false alarms today! Reduce False Dispatches with ECV Alarm.com ended support for phone receivers on February 1, 2024, and will begin assessing fees for accounts that are still using phone line forwarding. We recommend checking your Alarm.com accounts to make sure your signal retransmission is set to TCP/IP. While you're at it, we think it would be a good idea to make sure your other third-party providers (Telguard, Uplink, etc.) are also set to IP. IP is faster, more reliable, and POTS is a sunsetting technology. R EM I NDE R : CHANGE YOUR OLD POTS TO TCP/IP Integration Association of Florida Scan the QR code or visit: copsmonitoring.com/press
