COPS Monitoring Bulletin Newsletter #22

ALARMNET It's important to remember not to register your AlarmNet unit until you are ready to install it. Activating the unit initiates AlarmNet billing – even if the unit is still in the box or in the back of your truck. For questions about how AlarmNet is billed, please contact your Honeywell representative or COPS Monitoring Dealer Support. NEED TRAINING? We often have manufacturer training at or near our 6 central stations throughout the year. In some locations, we also host state and association training sessions. For a list of currently scheduled classes, visit copsmonitoring.com/training. You can also get information about a specific class or request to be notified when classes are scheduled in your area by clicking the "Request Info/ RSVP" button and filling out the form. DEALER PASSCODES Just a reminder that your MPower and verbal passcodes are different. If you send us an email, fax, or request information or changes over the phone, we will need your level 3 verbal passcode – not your MPower login passcode. Sometimes, the precautions we take to keep your information secure can seem confusing. If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact Dealer Support. It's what we're here for, and we will be happy to help you sort things out. We realize that your busy schedule complicates the task of staying informed. That's why we make an effort to be all things to all dealers when it comes to communicating. In other words, we try to give you important information through the convenient channels that you already use such as this Bulletin newsletter, our MPower news scroller, our social media pages Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and the occasional email or phone call. While we hope the information finds you as it's released, we believe there is just no substitute for "in person" communication – in fact, the importance of person-to-person interaction is one of our core values as your hometown central station and one of the reasons that we do so many dealer appreciation meetings, dinners, and events around the country. We welcome the opportunity to meet and talk with you face-to-face, listen to your comments, and relay important information that you might have missed throughout the year. However, our events are about more than just business. When you do get a chance to take time away from your busy schedule, we realize that you don't always want it to be all about work. Our dealer appreciation events also give you the opportunity to relax, catch up with some old friends, and even make some new ones. Whether you're a COPS dealer or not, we hope that you will join us and let us show our appreciation for you at one of our events throughout the year. Here are three events we hosted in the last quarter: Dealer Appreciation Bonanza at ISC West – April 2013, Las Vegas, NV ISC West is the largest event in our industry where alarm dealers can learn about the latest products and receive education on industry trends. We thought that a big show deserved a big dealer appreciation event. You work hard all year long. This year, we wanted to give you the opportunity to play hard by hosting our first dealer appreciation "Bonanza" at Gilley's in Treasure Island! What started out as a desire to show our appreciation for a few hundred alarm dealers, turned into an amazing party for well over 500 people! Everyone had a lot of fun! The 4-hour event, co-sponsored by Alarm Funding Associates, CheckVideo, SS&Si Dealer Network, Telguard, and Time Payment began with live entertainment, dinner, drinks and was topped off with fantastic door prizes, line dancing instruction, games and even a mechanical bull riding contest for big cash prizes. We didn't hold anything back – and neither did some of you! "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" – right? Not this time! Check out the video presentation on our site a t copsmonitoring.com/vegas/2013. We set the bar high, but we already have ideas on how to make our dealer event even better next year and we hope to see YOU there! Southeast Electronic Security Conference – April 2013, Orlando, FL For a few years, the Alarm Association of Florida (AAF) combined their show with the Electronic House Expo (EHX) in Orlando. This year marked the return of AAF's original show format, called the Southeast Electronic Security Conference (SESC). One hundred percent of the vendors, education, and events were focused solely on independent alarm dealers. As an added bonus, Florida license holders were able to earn all 14 of their CE credits for FREE just by attending the show and seminars. In conjunction with this great event, we hosted a dealer appreciation dinner for 60 at Emeril's in Universal Studio's City Walk. Visit copsmonitoring.com/sesc for information about the show and our dealer dinner.
