COPS Monitoring Bulletin Newsletter #27

A few months ago, COPS Monitoring was named Central Station of the Year by the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA). We're both humbled and honored to be chosen – not only because we were up against solid competition, but also because this was the first time in more than 36 years that we put our hat in the ring to be considered for an award. Shortly afterward, we received another surprise when COPS was voted #1 in Quality of Technology and Monitoring Services Features in an independent reader poll conducted by Security Systems News. Again, we were both flattered & humbled. We never set out to win any awards. Still, we must say that it is rewarding to be recognized for the hard work we put in every day supporting your business and playing an active role in the industry – although not for the reasons you might think. As we’ve said many times before: we can only succeed if you succeed, and all of us at COPS work tirelessly – determined to deliver the most professional and reliable monitoring we can. At COPS, we call this “institutionalizing excellence” in everything we do. In other words, we don’t settle for mediocre, or “good enough”, but rather strive to challenge ourselves to be the best we can every day as a convention or norm in our organization's culture. So what is an award? While they do help to derive a sense of accomplishment, winning awards is not our goal, and they are certainly not a destination. We will continue working hard for you every day because we believe that when COPS wins, you win. After all, the leading technology and services that earned these accolades are being put to work protecting the lives and property of your customers and upholding your hard-earned reputation. For these reasons, we dedicate our recognition to you: our dealers. Did you miss something? You have the ability to help reduce unneeded calls on repeat zones? By activating “Duplicate Signal Suppression” on an account by account basis, you can have us respond to an initial signal (Burglary priority level and under) but suppress subsequent duplicate codes for up to 60 minutes. Any new codes/zones would be notified on as they are setup, and we will keep track of all signals you elect to suppress. This could improve customer satisfaction by reducing unneeded repeat calls – and it reduces your dispatcher-handled activity levels.
