Security Professionals Help Prepare Children for School at Mission 500’s Florida Backpack Event
Boynton Beach, FL (August 15, 2017) – Building on the success of previous projects to provide school supplies to children in need, Mission 500 is holding a “Back to School Backpack Blast ” event at Crosspointe Elementary School in Boynton Beach, Florida. Various security industry companies will be working in unity to assemble backpacks and supplies. With the support of COPS Monitoring and ALAS (Latin American Security Association), Mission 500 will be donating 600 backpacks filled with essential supplies to the school. The assembling of the backpacks filled with school supplies took place on August 10. Official sponsor of the backpack event is COPS Monitoring. On August 16, the backpacks will be distributed to students from 10:30AM – 1:30PM, giving the sponsoring companies and industry volunteers an opportunity to meet and interact with the students. Press and media are welcome to attend!
“The school supplies programs are a great example of what industry teams and our sponsoring partners can accomplish together,” said Jeff Eichenlaub, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Mission 500. “The security industry is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in crisis, and we are grateful for all the support we’ve received to help us pursue that goal. We appreciate COPS leading the way as a primary sponsor for 3 years, demonstrating long-term commitment to the students. With a goal of positively affecting its community in a lasting way, backpack will also go home with a note to the parents and guardians announcing employment opportunities at COPS Monitoring’s Boca Raton monitoring station.”
“Ensuring that children have the supplies they need for school removes one more potential barrier to learning,” observed Courtney Roper, Parent Liaison of Crosspointe Elementary School. “The teams from Mission 500 treat all of our children with respect, and it is a pleasure to see their excitement first hand.”
