What's New

NEW COP-A-LINK FEATURES SAVE YOU TIME

#1: the "Manage An Account" feature allows you to perform multiple tasks for one customer during an active session. How's that help? You'll no longer jump from menu to menu, having to re-enter the account each time!

#2: Account History now alerts you if there is an UNFINISHED alarm on a dispatcher's screen!

#3: new fields were added to test results (ANI, linked virtual account numbers).

#4: COP-A-Link Mobile now remembers your log-in info & the account you are working on!

ISC WEST & TEXAS HOLD `EM A HIT

Las Vegas produced another great show for us, and we hosted our 2nd Annual Texas Hold "Em tourney at Binion's on April 3rd. There were 50 players & additional attendees. We distributed close to $5K in prize money, had good food & drink, and a great time with many customers - old and new. Thanks again to our sponsors: Contigo (GPS services), DSC (equipment), and Alarm Capital Alliance (account acquisitions)!

NEW COP-A-LINK FEATURE

You now have the ability to create and/or edit Responding Party lists with TIME FRAMES. This new feature allows you to ensure dispatchers do not expend energy calling RP's at telephone numbers during off-hours (for example, if you know someone works Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., we do not have to call that number on the weekend). This makes us faster, so be sure to further improve your company's image in the eyes of your customers today!

IMPORTANT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME INFORMATION IMPACTING ALARMNET EQUIPMENT

In August of 2005, the Energy Preservation Act changed the time period for Daylight Savings Time in the US, which started in 2007. Canada also changed over on these new dates.

Some equipment that automatically adjusts their clock/calendar to accommodate the change from DST will make these changes based on the old start dates, and will not make the change from DST on the new dates. We have identified the following products with this issue to be:

8132, 8132i, 8142, 8142i series keypads
7810iR and 7810iR-ENT Digital Receivers

To correct the display time on the above devices, please go to the following internet URL links and follow the instructions on the help documentation we have posted there.

For 8132/8142 series devices:

http://services.alarmnet.com/AlarmNetDirect/document/Timeset8132spring2008.pdf

For 7810iR series receivers:

http://services.alarmnet.com/AlarmNetDirect/document/Timeset7810iRspring2008.pdf

Please be assured that alarm delivery is independent of the date and/or time showing at the receiving device(s) and all alarms will get delivered even while the US and Canada change from Daylight Saving Time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank You from the AlarmNet Team of Honeywell

WE HAVE ECLIPSED THE AMPS SUNSET DATE OF 2/18! CLICK HERE TO SEE UP-TO-DATE INFO COURTESY OF ALARMNET

February 18, 2008

If you are not aware, February 18, 2008 is the date after which cellular carriers will begin to discontinue support of their analog wireless (AMPS) networks, which are the backbone of our AlarmNet-C service as well as all other companies offering service for analog cellular radios.

If a local AMPS carrier discontinues coverage in an area previously providing service to one or more AlarmNet-C radios, AlarmNet will continue to invoice for them until the affected units are specifically cancelled by the central station to AlarmNet. To avoid interruption of service, please consider upgrading any such AMPS radios to Honeywell GSM series products prior to anticipated dates of interruption.

To stop the billing on an account requires the cancellation of service to AlarmNet. Please note that AlarmNet can not assume the potential liability for improperly canceling an account without formal notification by the central station. Because AlarmNet cannot explicitly and consistently identify units that have failed due to a network service disruption, as opposed to other possible reasons, it is up to the central station and/or dealer to investigate the cause. If you determine that the cause is due to a service disruption and you wish to cancel, you must specifically do so before AlarmNet will cancel the financial obligation for payment of the service to AlarmNet.

Anticipated AMPS Carrier Shutdown Dates

As part of Honeywell’s commitment to keep you informed, the attached document labeled “AlarmNet-C Network Termination Dates” includes updated AMPS network shutdown dates by carrier. AlarmNet-C radios must be replaced before the AMPS shutdown dates. If you haven’t done so already, you should notify your customers of this upcoming event.

In addition, for central station AlarmNet Direct users, we have added new information to the “View Accounts” page regarding carriers and their respective termination dates. Please review the attached document for further information.

This information can also be found on the AlarmNet web site at the following URL:

http://www.security.honeywell.com/documents/HON_Sunset_122204.pdf

AlarmNet-C series radios can easily be upgraded to an AlarmNet GSM series product, with the same account number, using the ‘Replace C Device’ option on AlarmNet Direct. The AlarmNet Direct web site can be access at the following URL:

https://services.alarmnet.com/AlarmNetDirect/userlogin.aspx

If you have any further questions regarding this, please contact AlarmNet at 800-222-6525 and selection option 3 for administration (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm EST).
